What We Love About The Woodlands
Situated north of Houston and west of Interstate Highway 45 is the community of Woodlands, Texas. The city is called home by an incredible 93,000 people. Unlike other towns in Texas, Woodlands origins are relatively recent. Never did this town experience the growth that accompanied settlers in the 1800s, and the land generally was never used for farming. Instead, Woodlands is actually a master planned community and census-designated place, not an incorporated city. In 1974, American businessman George P. Mitchell attended a symposium by the Rouse Company on how to develop towns. From the beginning, Woodlands was created with the intent of housing a conference center, hotels, office parks, retail malls, schools, distribution centers, golf courses, and residential homes in a wide range of prices.
This beautiful community was described by the Houston Business Journal as a place meant to, “entice city slickers looking for a far-flung suburban quality of life.” While skeptics worried about Woodlands’ low survival rate, the suburban utopia flourished. Today, Woodlands is still growing residentially and commercially. One of the most notable expansions was the downtown area of Woodlands, called Town Center. It’s composed of 1000 acres packed full of shopping, restaurants, hotels, lofts, and entertainment, plus annual events if you’re lucky enough to catch one! The Woodlands master planned community is one of Davis Law Group’s favorite places, but it’s not just because of its impression planning; it’s because of the people. Davis Law Group is always honored to serve the residents of Woodlands, standing by their side through some of life’s greatest challenges.
