What We Love About Pleasanton
Sitting where the Atascosa River and Bonita Creek meet is the town of Pleasanton, Texas. Originally, the county seat for Pleasanton was located elsewhere, but moved to where Pleasanton is today due to conflicting interests with Native Americans. Settlers adored the site because of its location at the mouth of Bonita Creek, and thus, Pleasanton was founded in 1858. Its title is actually a namesake. The first Anglo-American postmaster of San Antonio, John Bowen, named the town after his good friend John Pleasants, who was also an early Texas settler. In Texan history, Pleasanton is often referred to as the “Birthplace of the Cowboy,” due to its high concentration of cowboys during Native American conflicts in the 19th century. In 1910, the county seat was moved again, this time out of Pleasanton and into Jourdanton. In 1917, the town became officially incorporated. Since then, Pleasanton has certainly come a long way.
Now, the town is located just 30 miles south of the bustling city of San Antonio. Located conveniently along U.S. Highway 281, Pleasanton is easily accessible. Its location offers residents a central location from which the rest of the greater San Antonio area can be explored. And, if you’re looking to explore outside, you’re in luck! Pleasanton has a lovely 70-degree average temperature, with tons of sunshine and less-than-average amounts of rain. Among all that Pleasanton has to offer, Davis Law Group loves the people who live here the most. We’re honored to serve the people of Pleasanton, representing them through some of life's greatest challenges.
