What We Love About Pasadena
Nestled between Houston and Deer Park, just off State Highway 225 is the beautiful city of Pasadena, Texas. The city was officially founded in 1893 by John H. Burnett, who was originally from Galveston. Pasadena is aptly named for its lush vegetation and stunning greenery, as “Pasadena” is a word for “crown of the valley” in the Native American Chippewa tribe. The city grew as a farming community in the late 1800s and early 1900s following the construction of the Northern Railroad. It wasn’t long before Pasadena established itself as the strawberry capital of the southeast region of Texas. In addition to the berry, Pasadena is known for its cultivation of cucumbers, cantaloupes, and other produce. The city was briefly incorporated in 1923, though revoked and disincorporated just a year later. Finally, in 1928, the citizens of Pasadena voted to officially incorporate the town.
As the years went on, Pasadena slowly transitioned from a farming community to industrial, especially after the establishment of Sinclair (now ARCO), Texaco, and Crown oil refineries. Now, Pasadena is known for its industrial and economic sectors. Among those include companies that specialize in panel manufacturing, petrochemical processing, petroleum and gas, aerospace technology, maritime shipping, and much more. It is also home to San Jacinto College and Texas Chiropractic College, plus tons to do at the Gilley’s Country and Western Club, Pasadena Philharmonic, Pasadena Rodeo, and the San Jacinto Strawberry Festival. Beyond all that Pasadena has to offer, our favorite thing about this city is the people. Davis Law Group is honored to serve the people of Pasadena, representing them through some of life's greatest challenges.
